My educational background
My educational journey began up North - Tauranga born and bred! Then as a family we moved overseas where we taught in South East Asia for 11 Years. Over my teaching time, I have taught across a number of age ranges from Kindy through to Year 10. My passion is Performing Arts - Music, Dance and Drama, however, I am first and foremost a classroom teacher. Within my teaching career overseas, I had the privilege of working as a member of the Primary Leadership Team. The 'melting-pot' of opportunities that teaching overseas gave me, is what has made me the practitioner I am today. I am currently completing a Post graduate Diploma Specialist Teaching - endorsed in Learning and Behaviour.
My educational passions and superpowers
It is such a treasure being an RTLB, working across a number of schools, and meeting wonderful Kaiako. I am passionate about being the best possible support to schools that I can be, meeting students where they are at, and spending time with whānau/family - hearing their stories in regards to their children. When these three areas work as one, we see significant changes in the behaviour of our tamariki, and increased engagement in learning takes place - this is a joy to see. .
